Lot 405: An Edwardian Style Inlaid Mahogany Two-Tier Plant Stand
A mahogany two-tier plant stand or torchère constructed in the Edwardian Sheraton Revival style. The item features a circular top with mahogany veneers, decorated with an inlaid boxwood stringing circle and a peripheral chequered-pattern marquetry border. The stand is supported by four slender, square-section legs that taper and splay outwards at the feet. A secondary circular shelf is set into the mid-section of the legs, finished with matching concentric boxwood stringing. The piece exhibits characteristic features of British furniture design from the early 20th century.
Condition report:
The item is in good structural condition. The finish is glossy with evidence of light surface scratches, minor scuffs, and wear commensurate with age and use. A small adhesive lot sticker is present on the top rim.
