Lot 377: Monogrammed CH, Still Life of Pink Roses and a Golden Urn, Watercolor and Bodycolour
A 20th-century still life painting executed in watercolor and bodycolour on paper. The composition features a central, ornate twin-handled urn in golden and ochre tones, surrounded by dense clusters of pink roses in various stages of bloom. The floral arrangement is set against a dark, contrasting wash background that highlights the delicate textures of the petals and the metallic sheen of the vessel. The work is monogrammed CH in the upper left corner of the painted area. It is presented in a cream double mount with a gilt-lined inner border and housed within a dark-stained wooden frame behind glass. Auction lot stickers are present on the upper left corner of the glass and frame.

Condition report:
The watercolor appears to be in good overall condition with the colours remaining vibrant. There is no visible evidence of foxing, water damage, or significant fading. The mount is clean and free from acid staining. The frame shows minor surface abrasions and light wear to the edges consistent with age and handling. This work has not been examined out of the frame.
