A collection of multiple books and volumes in various bindings, primarily dating from the 20th century. The collection features a Hamlyn all-colour paperback titled Bird Behaviour by John Sparks, illustrated with mandarin ducks. Also included is a small red cloth-bound volume titled The Nurse’s Pronouncing Dictionary by Honor Morten, and an Authorised Manual of the British Red Cross Society. Other identifiable titles include Greece in Photographs and a worn volume titled The Wife of Bath. Two larger volumes are positioned at the top of the group: one in blue textured cloth with gold lettering on the spine reading Music, and another in green cloth with a gold-tooled motif on the spine. The volumes are presented in mixed formats including octavo, duodecimo, and quarto.
Condition report:
The condition of the collection is variable. Several volumes exhibit significant shelf wear, scuffing, and edge fraying. The volume titled The Wife of Bath shows heavy surface loss and degradation to the front cover and spine. Fraying is noted at the spine ends of the larger cloth-bound books. Paperbacks show creasing and edge wear consistent with use. No dust jackets are present for the hardcover editions.
