The group includes The Golden Wonder Book in a blue embossed cloth binding; Rudyard Kipling’s Land and Sea Tales for Scouts and Guides, published by Macmillan and Co. in orange cloth with black lettering; The Purple Mask by Louise Jordan Miln in a tan cloth binding; A Ripping Girl in a tan cloth binding featuring a decorative circular portrait vignette; Byron’s Poetical Works (Oxford edition) in a tan cloth binding; and Books of the Open Air published by Alexander Maclehose and Co. in a light green cloth binding. The volumes are octavo in format and feature various publisher cloth bindings.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying degrees of age-related wear across all volumes. Observable defects include bumped corners, sunning and fading to spines, fraying to the cloth at the head and tail of spines, and general shelf wear. The Golden Wonder Book exhibits significant fraying and wear to the binding. No dust jackets are present.
