Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

This collection of blue and white transfer-printed ceramics comprises several pieces of traditional British earthenware and ironstone, primarily featuring chinoiserie landscape patterns. Included is a large two-handled tureen or deep bowl featuring a prominent Willow pattern with its characteristic bridge, pagoda, and geometric border, resting upon a matching oversized underplate. The collection also features a teapot and matching milk jug or creamer, both decorated with underglaze blue transfer chinoiserie landscapes and featuring scrolled handles. The teapot is set upon a pedestal base. Also present are various shallow forms, including plates and bowls with transfer-printed borders and central motifs. No manufacturer backstamps are visible in the current view as the items are positioned upright. Various modern adhesive price and inventory labels are present on several pieces.

Condition report:

The items show signs of age and use consistent with antique or vintage transferware. The large tureen exhibits significant visible crazing to the glaze on the interior and exterior rim. The tureen is currently being utilised as a planter for a live bird\'s-nest fern; prolonged contact with soil and water may have affected the interior glaze or caused staining and mineral deposits. Potential buyers are advised that the interior of the tureen has not been fully inspected. General surface wear and minor marks are visible across the collection.
