Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

An assortment of English bone china teaware and serving items, primarily decorated in a traditional Imari palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and gold. The collection features a large footed comport or pedestal bowl with a scalloped rim, elaborate gilded scroll-form handles, and a matching base. Its decoration consists of hand-finished floral sprays within cobalt blue panels and intricate gilt scrollwork borders. The group also includes a set of matching plates with scalloped, gilded rims and three straight-sided coffee cans featuring a similar pattern of stylized flowers and geometric bands. A secondary decorative pattern is present on a single cup and a set of saucers, displaying ornate gilded scrolling foliage on a white ground with dark blue borders. The decoration across the collection appears to involve transfer-printed outlines with hand-painted enamel colours and extensive gilded highlights. While the style is characteristic of early 19th-century English manufacturers such as Coalport or Royal Crown Derby, no permanent factory marks are discernible. Modern adhesive labels with the numbers 185 and 2 are present on several pieces.

Condition report:

The collection is in good overall condition. There is visible rubbing and wear to the gilding, particularly on the rims, handles, and high-relief areas, which is consistent with age and domestic use. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible from the overview.
