Lot 617: An Assortment of British Kitchen Cutlery Including Paget Brothers Sheffield Stag Horn Handled Items and a Lakeland Meat Cleaver
This collection of kitchen tools includes a vintage carving set and a contemporary cleaver. The carving set features a fixed blade carving knife with a stainless steel blade stamped Stainless, Paget Brothers, Sheffield. The knife is fitted with a genuine stag horn handle featuring a white composite end cap. Accompanying the knife is a round sharpening steel with a matching genuine stag horn handle. The set also includes a two-tine carving fork with an integrated folding safety guard and a genuine stag horn handle, presented in a red-lined cardboard box with a textured red exterior. Also included is a modern meat cleaver manufactured by Lakeland, featuring a stainless steel blade with a brushed finish, marked Lakeland. The cleaver is constructed with a black synthetic handle secured by three silver-tone rivets.
Condition report:
The items are in varied condition. The Paget Brothers carving knife shows light surface scratching and minor peppering to the stainless steel blade consistent with age. The sharpening steel exhibits typical signs of use on the metal rod, while the handle remains in good condition. The carving fork is in good vintage condition; however, its presentation box shows significant wear, including scuffing and structural weakness at the corners. The Lakeland meat cleaver is in used condition with visible surface scratching and minor wear to the blade edge.
