A collection of various decorative ceramic and glass items. The group is headlined by a glazed earthenware serving dish modelled as an acorn with a brown cross-hatched cap and a yellow base, featuring moulded oak leaf accents to the rim. This piece is attributed to Burleigh Ware (Burgess & Leigh) based on the distinctive form and glaze. The assortment also includes a teardrop-shaped clear glass dish decorated with hand-painted floral sprays including purple, yellow, and blue blooms, finished with a gilt rim. A separate decorative ornament consists of a circular frosted green glass base supporting a central ceramic rose and foliage. The porcelain elements of the collection feature a square dish with a scalloped gilt rim and central transfer-printed image of an African Elephant, a series of small circular saucers with polychrome transfer-printed coaching scenes, and a white ceramic wall pocket with a basket-weave texture bearing a blue and gold heraldic crest. Also included are various plates and vessels with floral transfer-printed designs and gilded highlights.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally fair condition. The earthenware acorn dish exhibits fine surface crazing consistent with age and material. The teardrop glass dish shows some minor rubbing to the gilt rim. The ceramic rose ornament has small chips to the edges of the green leaves. The various porcelain items show signs of light surface wear, minor scratches, and some thinning to the gilded accents. No significant structural cracks or professional restorations are evident.
