Lot 523: A Victorian style brass-toned electric table lamp of oil lamp form
A contemporary table lamp designed in the style of a traditional Victorian oil lamp. The body is constructed from brass-toned metal featuring a weighted, stepped circular base rising to a slender turned column and a rounded font section. It is fitted with a frosted glass shade decorated with etched floral patterns and finished with a pale-green tinted, crimped rim. A clear glass chimney is included within the shade assembly. The lamp has been converted for electrical operation and is fitted with a modern white plastic cable and a standard UK three-pin plug. A small orange adhesive label with the number 523 is present on the font. No manufacturer markings are visible on the metalwork or glass.
Condition report:
The brass-toned metal displays surface tarnishing, light scratching, and minor areas of oxidation commensurate with domestic use. The glass shade and chimney are intact and free from visible chips or cracks. The electrical components appear functional but are sold as decorative items; professional inspection and PAT testing are recommended before use.
