Lot 522: A Pair of Polished Brass-Toned Hurricane Style Electric Table Lamps
A pair of electric table lamps designed in the style of traditional Victorian oil or hurricane lamps. The bases are constructed from polished brass-toned metal, featuring a stepped circular foot rising to a fluted central column. Each lamp is fitted with a clear glass chimney. One lamp retains an outer frosted glass shade decorated with an embossed floral motif and a crimped upper rim. Both units are equipped with white power cords and standard UK three-pin plugs. No maker marks are visible on the exterior of the lamps.
Condition report:
The lamps are in good used condition. The brass-toned finish is bright with minor surface scratches and light wear consistent with use. The clear glass chimneys and the single frosted shade show no visible chips or cracks. One lamp is missing the secondary outer frosted shade. In accordance with standard auction practices for electrical goods, these lamps are sold as untested and it is recommended they undergo PAT testing by a qualified professional prior to use.
