Lot 386: A Collection of Haynes and Other Automotive Workshop Manuals and a Periodical
A collection of vintage automotive technical literature, predominantly featuring the Haynes Owners Workshop Manual series. The collection includes titles for various makes and models including the Ford Capri Mk I 1300 and 1600 ohv (Manual No. 029), Morris Minor 1000 (Manual No. 024), Peugeot 309 (Manual No. 1266), Ford Cortina Mk IV and Mk V 1.6 and 2.0 (Manual No. 343), Nissan Micra (Manual No. 931), two volumes for the Renault 5 (Manual No. 141), Nissan Sunny 1986 to 1991 (Manual No. 1378), Rover 214 and 414 1989 to 1996 (Manual No. 1689), and a Ford Escort volume. Additionally, the lot contains an Autodata Service and Repair Manual for the Ford Escort 1980-89 (No. 320), a BMC (British Motor Corporation) Minor Workshop Manual, and a single copy of Autocar magazine featuring the London Show Report dated 19 October 1962. The majority of the manuals are bound in original publisher hardcovers. The BMC manual is a thick, factory-style workshop publication.
Condition report:
Overall used workshop condition with signs of age and significant wear. The Autodata manual exhibits a heavily distressed spine with major loss of material. Several Haynes manuals, notably the Renault 5 and Ford Capri volumes, show splitting and fraying at the spine extremities. All covers show varying degrees of surface soiling, staining, and bumping to the corners and edges consistent with long-term use in a garage environment. Numerical stickers and handwritten labels are present on the spines of several volumes.
