This lot comprises three rectangular wall mirrors of varying styles, dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. The collection includes an ornate Rococo revival style mirror with a heavily moulded frame featuring scrolling foliate, acanthus leaf, and shell motifs at the corners and centres. This piece is decorated with nine gold-toned butterfly motifs applied to the lower right of the mirror plate. Also included is a large landscape-orientated mirror with a wide bevelled edge and a neoclassical cushion frame with horizontal ribbing and a beaded inner border. The third mirror features a tiered composite frame with a dark-stained wood outer moulding, a wide ochre-gold central border, and a geometric gilt inner slip, accented with six butterfly decals in the upper left corner. The frames are constructed from a combination of wood, plaster, and resin with gilt finishes.
Condition report:
The mirrors are in good overall condition. The glass plates remain clear with no significant foxing, silvering loss, or deep scratches observed. The frames show minor surface wear, light scuffing, and some dust accumulation within the decorative mouldings, consistent with age. All applied butterfly decorations appear to be intact and securely attached.
