A Victorian red glazed ceramic pitcher of bulbous form, featuring a flared rim and a white moulded scroll handle. The exterior is finished in a deep ruby red glaze, decorated with white enamelled foliate motifs and gilt floral sprays. The interior is glazed in white. The pitcher is accompanied by a circular glass basin or charger with concentric ruby and white bands and a clear rim. Included is a cylindrical ceramic lidded jar in the Majolica style, featuring a cobalt blue ground with relief-moulded oak leaves in green and acorns in yellow. The lid is surmounted by a branch-form handle and a foliate border. Both items display yellow auction lot labels numbered 362 and white labels numbered 19. No maker’s marks are visible.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good condition. There is minor surface wear and light loss to the gilding on the pitcher, consistent with age and use. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
