Lot 314: Gauvin, Mid-Century Landscape with Barn and Daisies
A mid-century decorative landscape painting, likely oil or acrylic on board, depicting a rustic wooden barn situated behind a field of daisies. The flowers are rendered with heavy impasto in shades of white and yellow, while the background trees are painted with a dappled technique in autumnal yellows. The work is signed vertically in white paint GAUVIN in the upper right corner. It is presented in a stepped wooden frame with a brown wood-grain finish and a narrow gold-toned inner slip. Two auction stickers are visible on the frame: a white tag numbered 21 and an orange tag numbered 314.
