A Moorcroft earthenware vase of bulbous form with a short flared neck and rim, decorated in the Anemone pattern originally designed by Walter Moorcroft. The exterior displays large tube-lined and hand-painted floral motifs in shades of deep red and pink with green foliage, set against a rich cobalt blue ground. The base features several marks including the impressed factory name MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND. It also bears an impressed eye symbol, which serves as the official Moorcroft date cipher for the year 1994. Hand-painted markings in green script include the WM monogram and artist or decorator initials resembling TP. The decoration is applied using the tube-lining technique with metallic oxide glazes.
Condition report:
The vase is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or evidence of professional restoration. Fine, age-related crazing is present within the clear glaze on the underside of the base.
