A Moorcroft pottery vase of ovoid form, designed by Rachel Bishop in the Poppy pattern. The vase features a bulbous body that tapers into a slender neck with a flared trumpet rim. The hand-painted and tubelined decoration depicts a large poppy flower in shades of red and orange, set against a cream and cobalt blue ground with stylized green leaves and seed pods. The base bears the impressed marks MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND, along with hand-painted marks including a blue copyright symbol for 1996 and the initials WM.
Condition report:
The vase is in good overall condition, showing no signs of chips, cracks, or professional restoration. There is some minor surface dirt and light scuffing to the unglazed foot rim from contact with surfaces.
