Lot 212: A Pair of Glazed Ceramic Palomino Horse and Foal Figurines
A pair of glazed ceramic figurines depicting an adult horse and a foal in a palomino colourway. The larger horse is modelled in a prancing posture with a raised foreleg and head held high, while the smaller foal is shown in a complementary active pose with its head lowered. Both items are finished in a golden-tan high-gloss glaze with contrasting white manes, tails, and lower leg markings. The style and execution are characteristic of mid-20th-century animalier ceramics. No maker’s marks, backstamps, or incised model numbers are visible on the figures. Both items currently bear orange adhesive lot stickers marked with the number 212.
Condition report:
The figurines appear to be in good overall condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair to the body or the delicate extremities such as the ears, legs, and tails.
