APRIL AUCTION

Lot 190: Ceramic dapple grey Hunter horse figurine in the style of Beswick

The auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A glazed ceramic figurine of a dapple grey horse, modelled in a standing, alert pose with its head held high and turned slightly towards its left side. The horse is depicted with a neatly plaited mane and a high-gloss finish. The coat is decorated with grey and brownish-grey dappling over a pale ground, featuring dark points on the muzzle, ears, and tail, and white markings on the lower legs. The modelling and glaze style are characteristic of mid-20th-century animal figurines produced in the Staffordshire potteries, resembling the Hunter model 1548 by Beswick. A white string-tied paper tag is attached to the neck and a small orange adhesive label is located on the belly, though no text is legible on either from the provided photograph.

Condition report:

The figurine appears to be in good condition with a well-preserved high-gloss glaze. No chips, cracks, or professional repairs are visible in the overview image. Potential bidders are advised that no factory marks were observed to confirm the maker.
