Lot 179: After Johannes Vermeer (Dutch, 1632-1675), 'The Little Street', and a Collection of Artworks

The primary item is a framed architectural landscape after Johannes Vermeer’s ‘The Little Street’, depicting a Dutch brick street scene with figures. The image is presented on a flat support, likely board or paper, and is housed in an ornate, heavily moulded gilt frame featuring scrolling foliate and acanthus leaf motifs. Beneath this is a large unframed print on paper titled ‘La Toilette c. 1890’, which features a figurative sketch in the manner of charcoal or graphite.
