Lot 15: A Cased Set of Six Silver-Toned Coffee Bean Spoons
A set of six coffee spoons, each featuring a slender stem terminating in a coral-coloured bean style finial. The spoons are constructed from a silver-toned metal, which is a common material for this style of mid-20th-century tableware. The set is presented in its original fitted rectangular case with a textured brown exterior. The interior of the case is lined with cream-coloured satin on the lid and a matching fabric base, featuring a black velvet-covered retaining bar to hold the spoons in place. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the metal components. Two adhesive stickers are present on the interior lining, one orange sticker marked 15 and one small white sticker marked 19.
Condition report:
The metal spoons show surface tarnishing and dark spots consistent with age and regular use. The presentation case exhibits minor wear to the exterior and light staining to the interior fabric lining. One spoon is slightly displaced from its original position within the case.
