Lot 14A: A Collection of Mid-20th Century Hand-Painted Earthenware Tea Wares
A collection of hand-painted glazed earthenware tea wares, decorated in a vibrant and stylized provincial pattern. The set comprises a teapot with a matching cover, a small cream jug, two teacups, and two saucers. The decoration features large yellow citrus-like fruit, clusters of small red berries, and orange-petaled flowers, accented with green foliage and black-painted stems and rims. The aesthetic is characteristic of mid-century hand-painted pottery, similar to patterns produced by Gray’s Pottery or Blue Ridge Southern Potteries. No maker’s marks or backstamps are visible on the surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in good overall condition. There are minor dark marks and surface wear to the teapot lid knob. Several pieces have adhered orange and white price labels which may leave adhesive residue when removed. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs are apparent from the overhead perspective.
