Masudaya (Modern Toys) Japanese battery-operated X-7 Space Ship, also identified by the Japanese text as the X-7 Enban or Saucer. The toy is constructed from lithographed tinplate and features a circular saucer-shaped body. It is designed with a central clear plastic cockpit dome containing a pilot figure and printed instrument panel details. The perimeter is decorated with multiple translucent plastic light covers in red, green, and orange. Lithographic markings on the body include X-7 and Space Ship along with various mechanical motifs. The toy is accompanied by its original colour-printed cardboard box, which features the Masudaya ST logo and Japanese text. The packaging indicates the toy possesses light, sound, and a travelling movement function.
Condition report:
The toy is in excellent vintage condition, exhibiting bright and well-preserved lithography with very little visible wear. The plastic cockpit dome remains clear and is free from cracks or significant scuffs. All plastic light covers are present and intact. The battery compartment is clean. The original cardboard box is complete but shows signs of age and shelf wear, including rubbing to the edges, minor creasing, and a small yellow adhesive price sticker on the front face. The mechanical and electronic functions have not been tested.
