This set of art glass dessert coupes or sundae dishes dates from the mid-20th century. Each vessel is constructed with a clear glass bowl featuring a frosted or acid-etched finish to the upper portion and a flared, undulating rim. The interior well of each bowl displays a vibrant orange-to-amber sunburst colour effect. The exterior surface is decorated with a fine, all-over stippled or pinhead hobnail texture, resembling the bullicante technique. The bowls are supported by short, plain stems on circular, slightly domed feet made from solid amber-coloured glass. A dark, irregular inclusion or pontil mark is visible at the centre of each bowl. The style and execution are consistent with European art glass production from the 1930s to 1950s, showing characteristics associated with mid-century British or Murano glassworks.
Condition report:
The set is in good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or significant abrasions are visible on the rims or bodies. Minor surface dust and light wear consistent with age and use are present. Adhesive price labels are attached to the interior of the bowls.
