The auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of decorative objects primarily of East Asian origin, featuring cloisonne enamelware, metalware, and carved stone. The lot includes several cloisonne enamel vases of varying forms, characterized by intricate wire-work cells filled with coloured enamels on copper or brass bases. Notable examples include a bulbous vase with a brown aventurine-style ground decorated with multi-coloured floral and scrollwork motifs, and a vase with a deep blue ground featuring flowering cherry blossom and foliage designs. A tapered vase with a dark red-brown ground depicts birds amongst foliage, accompanied by further decorative vases with floral patterns on green and dark grounds. The collection also contains a circular lidded box, the lid featuring a polychrome depiction of a figure with a parasol in the Japanese aesthetic. Additional items include a silver-toned white metal figure of a bird in flight, possibly a pheasant or hawk, mounted on a rectangular dark wood plinth, and a square-form block of carved pale green stone with natural veining, possibly soapstone or onyx. No maker marks, characters, or symbols are visible on the exterior surfaces of the items.

Condition report:

The items generally appear in fair to good condition consistent with age. Visible wear includes minor pitting and surface oxidation to the enamel, tarnishing to the metal rims and bases, and light surface scratching. One vase shows potential minor enamel loss near the rim. There is minor wear to the wood plinth and stone block. Prospective buyers are advised to inspect for small dents typical of handled metalware.
