This lot comprises three pieces of mixed brass metalware. The first component is a brass oil lamp burner featuring a stamped and pierced gallery with a scalloped edge and a thumbwheel for wick adjustment, accompanied by a woven fabric wick. This burner rests on a separate, openwork cast brass ring base. The second component is a circular brass drip pan or candlestick base of cast construction with lathe-finished surfaces, featuring a raised central well and aperture. The third component is a heavy cast brass trivet in the shape of a flatiron, featuring a pierced central design resembling a lyre or harp and supported by three integral feet. No maker’s marks are visible on any of the items.
Condition report:
All pieces show surface wear and a matured patina consistent with age and use. The oil lamp burner and its base exhibit surface tarnishing and a dull finish. The drip pan shows light scratching and small spots of oxidation. The trivet displays a deep, unpolished patina with traces of green verdigris in the recessed areas of the pierced design.
