Lot 71: A Collection of Decorative Ceramics and Glassware including a Moulded Leaf Vase and Japanese Style Wares
A collection of decorative ceramic and glass items. The group features a tall moulded ceramic vase in the form of a leaf cluster with a neutral beige glaze, in the style of Sylvac or Beswick. Included are several pieces in traditional Japanese styles: a lidded koro or incense burner with a pierced orange lid topped by a gilt foo dog finial, decorated with panels of figures and floral motifs in an iron-red and gold palette; a long-necked ceramic bud vase with iron-red and black floral decoration; and a small globular ceramic vessel with intricate geometric and floral patterns. The lot also contains a blue and white lidded ceramic jar with a cobalt blue glaze, a green textured glass dish, and a clear cut glass vessel. Several items bear orange auction lot stickers numbered 71 and 28. No makers marks are visible on the exterior of the pieces.
Condition report:
The collection appears to be in generally good condition. There is minor surface wear and some loss to the gilding on the koro and bud vase consistent with age and use. No significant chips or cracks are visible upon initial inspection.
