Lot 62: A Collection of T.G. Green Cornishware Blue and White Banded Kitchen Storage Jars
A collection of earthenware kitchen storage canisters and jars featuring a horizontal blue and white banded design. The pattern is characteristic of the Cornishware range produced by T.G. Green and Co. Several items feature black transfer-printed labels in a bold sans-serif typeface including Sultanas, Rice, Bi. Carb. Soda, Pepper, and Spice. The set includes lidded canisters of graduated sizes and smaller shakers. The bands are achieved through slip-dipping and lathe-turning techniques. No maker’s marks are visible on the bases.
Condition report:
The items are in good used condition with minor surface wear and crazing consistent with age and domestic use. A small chip is present on the rim of the Sultanas jar lid. Some pieces have adhesive auction labels attached.
