March sale
Lot 6:
This collection comprises an assortment of silver-tone metalware and glass items. The group includes a teapot in the Rococo Revival style, decorated with repoussé floral, foliate, and scroll motifs, featuring a hinged lid with a floral finial and a scrolled handle. Small stamped marks are visible on the body near the handle attachment but are not legible for transcription. Also included is a rectangular case, likely for cigarettes or cards, featuring an Art Deco engine-turned barley-corn pattern and a vacant rectangular central cartouche. A cylindrical tankard with a flared base and scrolled handle is present, showing a matte surface finish. The lot further contains a pepper caster with a faceted glass body and a pierced metal top, a child’s mug, a small bowl with a textured handle, and an egg cup on a saucer. An assortment of flatware is included in a clear bag, featuring various patterns including geometric Art Deco designs. Materials appear to be silver plate, metal, and glass.
The items show varying degrees of surface tarnish and wear consistent with age and use. Some pieces exhibit a matte finish which may indicate wear to the silver plating or the use of alternative base metals such as pewter. No significant structural damage or large dents are visible from the provided image.
