A large, circular earthenware wash basin of shallow form with a flared rim. The cream-coloured body is decorated with multi-colour transfer-printed botanical motifs. The design consists of asymmetrical sprays featuring autumnal leaves in shades of brown, orange, and green, alongside brambles and small pink blossoms. A repeating rope-twist border in a dark tone encircles the interior rim. The style and manufacture are characteristic of late Victorian or Edwardian aesthetic period pottery from the Staffordshire region. No maker’s marks are visible to the interior or rim.
Condition report:
The glaze exhibits overall fine crazing consistent with age. Several small dark kiln spots and minor surface marks are present. No major chips, cracks, or visible repairs are evident. Two adhesive auction labels are attached to the interior surface.
