A cast stone garden finial modelled in the form of a pineapple, a traditional motif for gate piers or balustrades. The sculpture features a stylized cross-hatched body rising from a decorative leaf-moulded collar. The upper section is supported by a fluted socle which terminates in an integral square plinth. The piece is composed of cast stone and exhibits a dark grey, mottled patina consistent with prolonged outdoor exposure. No maker marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on the base or body of the item.
Condition report:
The finial shows significant weathering and general wear consistent with age and outdoor display. There are minor chips to the edges and a noticeable loss to one of the leaf mouldings at the junction between the pineapple body and the socle.
