Lot 487: A Collection of Terracotta Garden Planters and Architectural Fragments including Yorkshire Flowerpot Company
A collection of unglazed terracotta garden pottery and architectural ceramics. The group includes two large flared-rim flowerpots, with the largest bearing an impressed mark reading YORKSHIRE FLOWERPOT. The assortment also features a tall cylindrical planter or chimney pot section and two smaller squat cylindrical pots. One of the smaller pots is decorated with moulded relief around the body and exhibits a heavy green mossy patina. Additionally, the lot contains an architectural fragment, possibly a finial or part of a chimney structure, with surface encrustation. Several items retain small orange auction lot labels.
Condition report:
Items are in a weathered, as-found condition consistent with outdoor use. There is significant accumulation of moss, algae, and surface dirt across the collection. Minor chipping and wear are present on the rims and edges. The architectural fragment shows significant surface weathering and loss to the outer layer.
