Lot 484: A Pair of Weathered Reconstituted Stone Rectangular Garden Troughs
A pair of 20th-century garden troughs of rectangular form, constructed from reconstituted cast stone. Each trough features a stepped, moulded rim and a raised rectangular panel to the front face. The items are of a traditional design typical of UK garden ornaments from the mid to late 20th century. No maker marks or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces. Both troughs contain residual soil and exhibit small yellow adhesive labels on the upper rims.
Condition report:
The troughs are in a heavily weathered condition consistent with prolonged outdoor use. Significant moss and lichen growth is present across the surfaces, particularly concentrated on the rims. There are visible surface abrasions, minor chips to the edges, and general ingrained dirt throughout.
