Lot 403: An Assortment of Cut Crystal and Glass Tableware including a Fluted Bowl and Stemmed Glassware

Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of cut crystal and glass tableware of various forms and patterns. The assembly includes multiple drinking vessels such as stemmed wine glasses, spirit glasses, and cylindrical tumblers, alongside a large decorative bowl. The pieces exhibit traditional cutting techniques including sharp diamond-cut bands, vertical wedge cuts, and oval thumbprint motifs. Several of the stemmed glasses and tumblers feature radial starburst or sunburst cutting to the bases. The large bowl is characterised by broad vertical flutes extending to a shaped, undulating scalloped rim. While faint etched marks are visible on the undersides of several pieces, they are not clearly legible; however, the style and quality of the cutting are consistent with mid-20th-century British or Irish lead crystal production, such as that of Stuart, Webb Corbett, or Waterford.

Condition report:

The collection appears to be in good overall condition. There are no major chips, cracks, or significant damage visible. Some pieces may exhibit minor flea-bite nicks to the sharpest edges of the cut patterns and light surface scratching to the bases commensurate with age and handling. The glass remains clear with no evidence of clouding or glass sickness.
