Lot 390: A Collection of Optical Equipment and Miscellaneous Ephemera including Swallow Binoculars and a Vanguard Tripod
A collection of optical equipment and miscellaneous items including a pair of Swallow brand field binoculars. The binoculars are of porro prism construction and are presented in a black textured hard-sided carrying case with a red velvet-effect interior lining. The inner lid is marked with gold-tone cursive text reading Swallow. Included are four lens caps featuring the Swallow name and a stylised bird icon, along with a black neck strap. The lot also contains a Vanguard aluminium tripod featuring three-section telescoping legs and black composite flip-lock adjustments. The tripod is designed with integrated rubber feet and retractable metal spikes, and is accompanied by a black padded nylon zip-up carrying bag. Additionally, the lot includes a yellow plastic tray containing various books and paper ephemera, including UK football programmes with references to Wembley and Sunderland, alongside a folding chessboard and other miscellaneous household items.
Condition report:
The binoculars appear to be in good used external condition, though optical clarity and mechanical adjustments have not been tested. The Vanguard tripod shows signs of moderate cosmetic wear consistent with field use; the mechanical function of the leg locks and head movement has not been fully tested. All items are offered in as found condition.
