Lot 381: A Victorian Style Cast Iron Two-Tier Garden Plant Stand
A two-tier circular garden side table or plant stand constructed from cast iron. The piece features two circular tiers, each moulded with a central foliate and floral motif, enclosed by a scalloped and pierced decorative border. The structure is supported by three cast iron legs designed with high-relief foliate and branch-work casting, terminating in small integral feet. The finish is white paint over cast iron. No maker’s marks or signatures are present.
Condition report:
The item is in weathered condition consistent with outdoor exposure. There is extensive surface oxidation and rust throughout. Significant loss to the white painted finish is visible. There is a notable area of loss and chipping to the decorative scalloped edge of the lower tier. The structural integrity appears sound.
