Lot 377: A Group of Framed Advertising and Art Prints including Maxfield Parrish and Vintage Motor Car Interest
A group of framed prints comprising reproductions of vintage advertisements and art. The collection includes a reproduction of the 1896 Maxfield Parrish poster for the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, featuring stylised figures and the artist’s signature in the lower right corner of the illustration. Also included is an advertisement for The Oktis Corset Shields depicting a woman in period dress, and a Reckitt’s Starch advertisement featuring a montage of children’s faces around a central figure. The collection further contains an early 20th-century motor car sales list titled Cars for Everybody! which includes pricing and models for manufacturers such as Mercedes, Panhard, De Dion, Peugeot, and Darracq. All items are printed on paper and presented behind glass in various wood and wood-effect frames with internal mounts.
Condition report:
All items are housed in glazed frames. The frames exhibit minor age-related wear, including light scuffs and surface marks to the wood and wood-effect finishes. The prints appear to be in good condition with no visible foxing or significant fading. These items are sold as decorative prints and their status as original period ephemera is not guaranteed.
