Lot 304: A Pair of Swift Prism Binoculars with Leather Carrying Case
A pair of prism binoculars by Swift. The instrument features a black textured synthetic grip over a metal chassis with integrated metal strap lugs. The prism housing cover is finished in black and decorated with a horizontal blue and white stripe alongside the maker logo, which consists of the name SWIFT within a circular crosshair design. The right eyepiece is fitted with a dioptre adjustment ring featuring a graduated scale marked with numerals 2, 0, and 2 separated by plus and minus signs. The set includes two black flexible protective eyepiece caps, also bearing the maker logo, and a black neck strap. The binoculars are accompanied by a hard-sided, tapered carrying case constructed from smooth brown leather with a flip-top lid, metal stud fastening, and a light-coloured ribbed interior lining. The case includes an attached leather shoulder strap.
Condition report:
The binoculars and case appear in good cosmetic condition with minor signs of handling and surface wear. The leather case shows light scuffing consistent with age and use. The set is complete with neck strap and eyepiece caps. Internal optical clarity and mechanical functions, including focusing and hinge tension, have not been tested.
