Lot 301: An Assortment of Vintage Model Railway Power Units and Electrical Testing Equipment
A collection of vintage electrical and model railway equipment. The lot includes a Hammant and Morgan Clipper power control unit housed in a grey and black plastic and metal casing, marked CLIPPER, H and M, HAMMANT and MORGAN LTD, and MADE IN ENGLAND. Also present is a Meccano Ltd power control unit with a grey hammer-tone finish metal housing, marked POWER CONTROL UNIT and MADE IN ENGLAND. The scientific instruments include an analogue microammeter in a dark-stained wooden case with a glass-covered dial and brass and bakelite terminal knobs. The dial is marked MICROAMPERES with a scale from 0 to 500. Additional items comprise an RS Components cardboard spool, various electrical cables, plugs, relays, a small grey metal component box, and a green rectangular cardboard box. Included ephemera consists of a program for THE RAILWAY FESTIVAL 1993 and a fragment of a NO ADMITTANCE sign.
Condition report:
The items are in used, vintage condition with visible surface wear, dust, and age-related marks consistent with hobbyist use. Electrical and mechanical functions are untested. The completeness of the various components and wiring cannot be guaranteed. The wooden-cased meter appears structurally intact with clear glass. Controls on the power units move freely.
