Lot 299: A Collection of Vintage Fishing Equipment Including a Shakespeare Reel, Rods, and a Landing Net
An assortment of vintage fishing tackle and accessories. The collection includes a black Shakespeare fly reel, model 2678, bearing the SK logo and marked Made in England. Also included is a dark green fly or centrepin reel featuring twin cream-coloured knobs, and a perforated alloy fly reel wound with monofilament line. The lot contains several rod sections, one with a shaped cork handle and another with a dark, turned wooden grip. A traditional landing net is present, constructed with a bentwood frame and knotted netting. The items are accompanied by a black textured plastic equipment case.
Condition report:
The items exhibit signs of age and regular use. Rod handles show wear, soiling, and some degradation to the cork. The reels display surface scuffing, oxidation, and paint loss consistent with age. The netting on the landing net shows fraying and some breaks in the mesh. The equipment case has external scuffing and marks. All items are sold as seen and have not been tested for mechanical functionality.
