Lot 270: A Collection of Murano Style Art Glass Paperweights including Controlled Bubble and Aventurine Examples
A collection of hand-blown art glass paperweights, featuring techniques and styles associated with mid-20th-century Murano glassmakers such as Alfredo Barbini and Seguso. The collection includes a clear glass sphere with a ruby red sommerso core and a ring of controlled bubbles, and a clear glass sphere containing a cobalt blue internal swirl with suspended gold-coloured foil inclusions. Also included is a clear glass sphere with dense gold foil inclusions to the lower section and scattered bubbles, and a clear glass sphere with a burgundy base featuring fine gold-coloured flecks. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible. Each item is marked with an orange adhesive label bearing the handwritten number 270.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant internal bruising. Minor surface scratches and shelf-wear are present on the bases, consistent with age and use.
