A mid-20th century Union Flag of multi-piece construction. This example is composed of individual red, white, and blue fabric panels stitched together, a method typically associated with higher-quality military, naval, or official issue flags of the period. The flag features the standard Union Jack design. A small, black printed mark reading MADE IN ENGLAND is located on one of the white horizontal fimbriations. The flag is constructed without a visible hoist rope or toggles in its current state. Based on construction techniques and market consensus for similar panel-stitched examples, this item is consistent with British production from the WWII era or the immediate post-war period.
Condition report:
The flag is in used vintage condition with heavy creasing consistent with being folded for an extended period. There is visible staining and localised foxing throughout the white fabric sections, particularly on the saltire and fimbriation. A small puncture is present in the upper-left white quadrant above the horizontal red bar. The fabric colours remain generally vibrant with minimal evidence of significant UV fading.
