Lot 197: A Viners of Sheffield Stainless Steel Flatware Set
A vintage stainless steel flatware service by Viners of Sheffield featuring a traditional foliate scroll pattern to the terminals. The set comprises a collection of table knives, forks, soup spoons, and dessert spoons, accompanied by serving pieces including a large serving spoon and tongs. The table knives are fitted with cream-coloured synthetic handles and stainless steel blades. Markings include the maker name Viners of Sheffield and Stainless etched into the knife blades and stamped on the reverse of the fork and spoon stems. The service is presented in a fitted canteen box with a blue and white checked fabric exterior and a cream satin and black velvet-lined interior.
Condition report:
The set appears in good used vintage condition, showing typical light surface scratches and minor signs of wear consistent with age and occasional use. There are no monograms present. The presentation case shows some light shelf wear and minor discolouration to the exterior fabric.
