Lot 183: A Collection of Commemorative and Corporate White Ceramic Mugs
A collection of white ceramic mugs, likely fine bone china, featuring various transfer-printed commemorative and corporate designs. The lot includes items of cylindrical and slightly flared tankard forms, each with a loop handle. The decoration is applied via transfer-printing, with several examples featuring hand-applied gilded rims. The subject matter primarily relates to British naval history and the shipbuilding industry in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. Specific printed inscriptions include HMS Ocean, GEC Marine, Barrow-in-Furness; HMS Vengeance, 19th September 1998, GEC Marine; Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering (VSEL); Liverpool F.C.; and Fisher corporate branding.
