A high-quality colour print on a textured substrate designed to resemble a woven or canvas surface. The work is executed in the Neo-Safavid style of Persian miniature painting and is attributed to the artist Ali Moti’ (1925-2006) based on marginal inscriptions. The central composition depicts a seated elderly figure with a white beard, likely a scholar or dervish, positioned within a stylised landscape. The figure is dressed in sage green and chestnut brown robes with a pink sash, accompanied by an open manuscript, a ceramic vessel, and a platter of fruit. The background features a flowering tree with pink blossoms and rocky outcrops. The image is enclosed within a gold-tone border and a wide textured margin. The piece contains several areas of Persian calligraphy in Nastaliq script. A vertical line of text in the left margin reads مینیاتورهای استاد علی مطیع (Miniatures of Master Ali Moti’). Text in the upper left corner reads شماره ۲۶۳ – فروردین ماه ۱۳۷۴ (Number 263 – month of Farvardin 1374), identifying the publication date as March/April 1995. Two decorative cartouches within the main image contain further poetic verses.
