Lot 152: A Group of Silver-Plated Tableware and a Pierced Basket
A group of silver-plated items comprising a hot water or coffee pot, a matching cream jug or sauce boat, a circular salver, and a square-form basket. The hot water pot and jug are designed in the Queen Anne revival style, featuring gadrooned or fluted decoration to the lower sections of the bodies. The pot is fitted with a hinged lid and an ebonised scroll handle. The circular salver features a scalloped or pie-crust rim. The square-form basket is fitted with a decorative swing handle and features a wide, pierced border decorated with panels of lattice-work and scrolling foliate and floral motifs. All items appear to be silver-plated (EPNS). No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible on the bodies or bases of the items.
Condition report:
The items show signs of surface tarnishing and light scratches consistent with age and use. There is visible wear to the plating in the centre of the square basket. All items carry orange auction lot stickers numbered 152.
