A collection of Robertson’s advertising figurines, produced circa 1950-1960. These items are manufactured from cast plaster with a hand-painted finish. The assortment features characters in various roles, including members of a jazz band with instruments such as a saxophone, guitar, and drums, alongside figures depicted in sporting attire. Each character is positioned on an integral rectangular base. The mark ROBERTSON’S is embossed on the side of the bases. These figurines were originally distributed as promotional items for the British preserves manufacturer.
Condition report:
The collection displays signs of wear and handling appropriate for its age. There is visible paint loss and small chipping to the surfaces of several figures, most notably around the edges of the bases and on prominent features. One figure shows more extensive surface wear to its base. No major structural damage or repairs are visible.
