Lot 136: A Collection of Decorative Ceramics, Miniature Figurines, and Curios
A collection of decorative ceramics and miscellaneous miniatures. The lot includes a pair of glazed ceramic clogs with blue and white windmill decoration in the style of Elesva Holland. Ceramic items comprise a small white porcelain cup with the transfer-printed word Mother, possibly Burleigh Ware, a group of ceramic thimbles with floral motifs, and two brown-glazed beehive-shaped models. Also included are various animal figurines including ducks and a penguin, a miniature girl figurine in a blue and yellow dress, and a small jug with a light blue drip-glaze, possibly Ault. A second blue jug features a gilt-finished rim and handle. A small ceramic saucer holds a hedgehog figure with a textured amber-coloured composite body. Miscellaneous items include two vintage-style miniature toy delivery vans in green and cream livery, a small glass bottle of layered sand art, and a circular vessel with a decorative metal filigree cap inset with a red cabochon. The lot also contains a felt and plush gnome figurine and an assortment of small resin and plastic miniatures including a fairy and gift-box ornament. The saucer contains partially legible transfer-printed text including the fragments A m, b as you, and fair.
Condition report:
The items are in a used condition consistent with age. Visible wear includes minor paint loss to the resin and plastic figures, light surface scratching, and crazing to the glazes of several ceramic pieces. No significant chips, cracks, or restorations are noted upon visual inspection. The lot is sold as seen.
