OCTOBER SALE
Lot 328:
This lot comprises five rectangular ceramic planters, consistent with an East Asian bonsai aesthetic. The two uppermost pots feature unglazed reddish-brown interiors with two drainage holes and glazed yellowish-brown rims, exhibiting some internal white residue. Below, two smaller, footed planters display a glossy brown glaze embellished with raised or painted golden-yellow floral branch motifs. The largest, bottom planter is a broad, shallow tray-form, also with a yellowish-brown glaze, depicting subtle relief or painted birds on branches. All items are constructed from glazed earthenware or stoneware. Visible auction-related markings include orange stickers bearing ‘328’ on the upper right pot and the large bottom planter, and white stickers with ‘7 7’ on the central nested pots. The period of manufacture is not immediately discernible.
