A large, two-piece cut-glass pedestal bowl of heavy lead crystal construction, featuring a deeply flared circular bowl and a separate conforming pedestal base. The piece is decorated in the American Brilliant style with large deeply cut hobstars alternating with fan-cut sections and panels of strawberry diamond cross-hatching. The rim is scalloped with notched edging, and the pedestal base displays coordinating radial star and facet cutting. Two orange rectangular adhesive labels marked with the handwritten number 89 are applied to the exterior side. A small square white label is visible on the interior rim, though the text is illegible. No acid-etched or engraved maker’s marks are visible. The glass exhibits high clarity and significant prismatic refraction.
Condition report:
The glass remains clear with no evidence of internal clouding. No major chips or cracks are visible. Minor flea bites and superficial abrasions consistent with age and use may be present to the sharp mitre cuts and scalloped rim.
