Lot 70: A Collection of Indian Tree Pattern Bone China Tea Wares
A collection of fine bone china tea wares decorated in the traditional Indian Tree pattern. The transfer-printed design features a gnarled, dark tree branch laden with stylized pink and white blossoms and teal-coloured foliage. The collection includes a bulbous teapot with a matching domed lid featuring a pointed, gilded finial, a cream jug with a high loop handle and wide pouring spout, and a teacup with a matching saucer. The saucer is further decorated with a geometric fretwork border in brown and gold tones. All pieces are accented with gilding to the rims, handles, and finial. While no maker marks are visible in the provided imagery, this pattern was a standard production of various Staffordshire potteries throughout the 20th century. Adhesive inventory stickers are present on several pieces.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. Rubbing and wear are visible to the gilded accents, particularly on the teapot lid finial and the rims of the vessels. There are no chips, cracks, or visible signs of restoration.
